Junot

With only two weeks notice, Tiffnay Junot went from starting to prepare to face Mia St. John to becoming WBC Light Middleweight champ.

Junot (10-3-1) had lost via unanimous decision to Kuulei Kupihea this past July, but stepped up when after Molly McConnell had to drop out of the fight due to an injury. Junot would win a unanimous decision (98-94, 96-94, 96-94) this past weekend in Bakersfield, CA.

St. John (47-12-2) had defeated Christy Martin for the belt this past August.

No word on when Junot will defend her new title.
