THE eyes of the world will be on East London this summer and with good reason.
A defining year is already racing by as the worlds iconic sporting showpiece finally envelops the capital city, capturing the national imagination – and that of the globe beyond.
The rich tapestry of athletic prowess on show at the games of the 30th Olympiad should in theory cater for every possible taste – from the elite of track, field, pool, gym and apparatus to the Paralympic heroes going for gold – but there are a few glaring omissions.
Double world champion Muay Thai boxer Amanda Kelly is one of them. She plans to make people notice East London – and more specifically her – for a different reason in 2012.
