Jodie Esquibel Heading to Korea this Weekend for Minimumweight Title Bout
After her win a year ago, Albuquerque’s Jodie Esquibel (6-5-1) is back in the ring to try to win her first pro title as she faces IFBA Minimum weight champ Ji-Hyun Park (14-2) in Park’s home country of South Korea.
Esquible had been on a three fight win streaking going into her December 2010 match Savannah Hill. She got unanimous decision win in her hometown; and earlier this year, won her pro-MMA debut via TKO.
Park has yet to fight outside of her home country, and is on an 8 fight win streak. She defeated a debuting Sun Quan Yan in July with a unanimous decision. Park has a TKO victory over top European fighter Krisztina Belinszky.
